Receive lashings of country hospitality in the birthplace of Lieutenant General Sir Henry Chauvel of the famous Light Horse Brigade, one of Tabulam's claims to fame, at the Tabulam Hotel. Designated as a town in 1885, Tabulam is the only other 'town' on the Clarence River besides the city of Grafton. The scenic country side west of the Range is extremely significant to both Indigenous and European cultures.Tabulam Hotel is a great base camp from which to launch an expedition of discovery into some of the most interesting secrets this country offers. Cross the longest single span wooden bridge in the Southern Hemisphere, journey past the World War II Tanks Traps, part of the infamous 'Brisbane Line', through pockets of rainforest and onto some of the most scenic country around.Tabulam is a quaint village of 150 people located in a rather beautiful setting on the Bruxner Highway between Tenterfield (73 kilometres) and Casino (58 kilometres). 830 kilometres north-east of Sydney, it is situated on the Clarence River.

Riders Rest is just off the Bruxner Highway between Tabulam and Drake. The Bruxner is a renowned Rider's Road with long straights, sweeping curves and winding mountain passes, low car and truck traffic and great views. Enjoyable and exhilarating for all level riders and pillions on sports bikes, tourers or cruisers and for off-road enthusiasts there are an abundance of unsealed roads winding off into the bush. Explore the region from this base camp and come back to the comforts of home, or a great party space with a variety of accommodation. Ideal for all types of functions. Secure stabling for up to 30 bikes.

Chauvel Park Bed and Breakfast is a great welcoming pet friendly stopover for travellers - especially from Melbourne to Queensland. Located 45 minutes east of Tenterfield at Tabulam on the Bruxner Highway. Offering comfortable self-contained cottage accommodation with three bedrooms, there are two doubles, one single and another single bed in an alcove. In addition there is a double sofa bed on an enclosed veranda. The garden at Chauvel Park is magic with stunning old established trees some over 150 years old. The driveway is lined with colourful Crepe Myrtle trees with more in the garden. There are a couple of paddocks for horses too. Pet friendly - please enquire with Chauvel Park at time of booking. With access to the banks of the Clarence River you can enjoy birdwatching, fishing or launch your own boat or canoe.

Emu Creek Extreme Retreat is the only fully approved off road venue of its kind in Northern NSW, offering 4x4 driving, motorbike riding and more over 4000 acres. Situated on the edge of the Clarence River Valley, Emu Creek is perfect for a wilderness escape, nature watching or many off road sports. Emu Creek Extreme Retreat have two insulated six berth cabins for those that like a bit more comfort instead of camping on their extreme adventures. These cabins and facilities are constantly being upgraded over time. Running hot and cold water in cabins is presently not provided but there are the facilities to boil water on the burners. You just need to bring your own sheets, bedding, pillows, drinking water and esky.
