Starting life in 1909 as the Imperial Hotel, the Thunderbolt Inn is an historic Victorian style hotel situated in the centre of Uralla, at the corner of the New England Highway and Thunderbolt's Way.
The hotel received its current name in 1970, on the anniversary of the death of the gentleman bushranger, Captain Thunderbolt, who ruled the highways and byways of the New England district during the 1860s.
